Speaking at the conference, Mr. Tran Van Tung - Deputy Minister of Science and Technology said that in recent years, the Party and State have always been interested in S&T activities with the view that science and technology are really the key driving force for economic and social development. The Ministry of Science and Technology has directed to strengthen the application and transfer of technology in localities through the activities of the Centers to perform the function of application and technology transfer under the Department of Science and Technology. It can be seen that the Center plays an important role in receiving, evaluating, selecting technologies, applying and transferring technical advances into production according to local characteristics, serving people's lives. It is the focal point for collecting and providing information to serve state management agencies in the process of orienting and formulating policies, strategies, master plans and plans for the development of science and technology in the locality.

According to the Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, in 2022, the Centers have actively enhanced application activities, mastered technology to develop products according to local characteristics, and support businesses in application and innovation activities, making positive contributions to the local socio-economic development. In the period from 2018 to 2022, the system of centers has mastered more than 400 technologies; deployed more than 14,000 contracts of consulting services and technology transfer; perform more than 1,000 science and technology tasks for practical application; actively link research and application of technology to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic in the locality... These results have made positive contributions to the application and transfer of technology and economic development - local society; is an important bridge to create links between research institutes, universities and enterprises to transfer applied research results into local production and business practices
