VietNamNet Bridge – Four out of every 10 Vietnamese people surf the Internet at least once a week and the rate is 8/10 among those aged between 15 and 24, according to a survey conducted by Cimigo, a leading multi-national research company.

“Young people changes the online world,” Richard Burrage, Cimigo Executive Director commented, saying his company interviewed 1,000 internet users aged between 15 and 24 in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City for the survey.
The survey found that the interviewed spent 2.5 to 3 hours on internet on average for each log-in as 91 percent of them have access to high-speed ADSL connection.
However, young users spend most of their internet time on chatting, downloading music, playing games online and writing blogs rather than reading news and searching for information, the survey said.
The survey revealed the fact that 55 percent of the interviewed youths had created their own blogs, reflecting an increasing trend among the youth for expressing themselves and communicating with others.
The three most favourite websites among Vietnamese young internet users are Google, Zing, and Yahoo, while Google, Tuoi Tre, VN Express and Dan Tri websites are found to be popular among those above 25, according to the survey.
