On April 21st, 2010, Department of Science & Technology organized a conference to accept scientific subject “survey to look for underground water source at some water deficiency areas of Ba Ria- Vung Tau province by radiation geography method”, headed by Dr. Vu Van Bang (Belongs to Environment – Earth Rays research Joint Stock Company).
Main purpose of subject is to manufacture geo-radiation meter to look for underground water at Suoi Rao commune (Chau Duc district) and Con Son (Con Dao district),

Regional Workshop on Safety Requirements for Site Selection and Evaluation for NPPs (09/06/2010)

On June 7, 2010 in Hanoi the Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety (VARANS) in collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) organized the Regional Workshop on Safety Requirements for Site Selection and Evaluation for Nuclear Power Plants (NPPs) under the framework of the Asian Nuclear Safety Network (ANSN). The Workshop will take place from 7-11 June 2010.

Sign the contract to export over 80% rubber production in 2010 (09/06/2010)

Mr.Vo Huu Hiep, Vice General Director of Ba Ria Rubber One Member company Ltd., said that, till now, the company has signed a long-term contract to export rubber latex with over 80% rubber product which be expected to expoit in 2010 (about 5,200 tons).
In May only, the company expoilted about 600 tons of rubber latex, reached 60% plan.

Open-Source Could Mean an Open Door for Hackers (09/06/2010)

                                 A new analysis suggests that attackers exploit open-source software flaws faster and more effectively.
The ability to access the code of open-source applications may give attackers an edge in developing exploits for the software, according to a paper analyzing two years' worth of attack data.
The paper, to be presented this week at the Workshop on the Economics of Information Security, correlated 400 million alerts from intrusion detection systems with known attributes of the targeted software and vulnerabilities.

18,000 Beeline mobile subscribers register over 100 years old (08/06/2010)

Bridge – The Ministry of Information and Communications (MoIC) has released initial results about its inspection of three mobile operators’ management of pre-paid subscribers, which was carried out in April 2010.
During the inspection, the ministry examined 26,093 bureaus and 143,020 agents of three minor cell phone networks - Gtel, S-Fone and EVN Telecom. Inspectors collected 1.1 billion dong (US$58,000) of fines and 4980 SIM cards which were already registered, though they had not been sold yet.
