Vietnam introduces social network for Vietnamese (25/05/2010)

Minister of Information and Communications (MoIC) Le Doan Hop on May 19 launched go.vn, the social-education-entertainment network for Vietnamese at www.goonline.vn.
Minister Hop expected that Go.vn will become a general university of Vietnamese and the common house for the people and the online community.

Not enough clean water to supply for rural’s demand (25/05/2010)

According to report of Centre for Rural Water Supply and Environment Sanitation, till the end of March 2010, about 24,519 households in Rural area have installed water- meters for using tapping water (38.4%). Total length of water pipe in rural area area about 897,015 meters, so about 42% rural people can use clean water (26,584 households). But, people in Cu Bi commune (Chau Duc district) and Tan Lam commune (Xuyen Moc district) have not been used clean water.

A former security guard has pleaded guilty to charges that he broke into his employer's computers while working the night shift at a Dallas hospital.
Jesse William McGraw pleaded guilty Friday to two counts of transmitting malicious code, the U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ) said in a statement.

Int’l study on software piracy in Vietnam incomplete (09/05/2010)

Vietnamese experts Friday rejected a recent study on the country’s computer software copyright violations by two international organizations, saying it was incorrect and unconvincing.  

The study by Business Software Alliance (BSA) and International Data Corporation (IDC) had several shortcomings, the Vietnam Association for Information Processing (VAIP) told a conference on Friday.

Software advice council debuts (23/04/2010)

A council on Viet Nam software development policy consultation made its debut on Wednesday in Ha Noi, according to the Viet Nam Software Association (Vinasa).
The council was established by Vinasa, and it boasts 21 members from Viet Nam' + char(39)+ N's leading software enterprises, as well as representatives from information technology training establishments and research institutes.
