Three high-tech labs unveiled in HCM City

VietNamNet Bridge – The Research and Development Centre (R&D) in Ho Chi Minh City ’s Saigon High-Tech Park (SHTP) opened three laboratories on Oct. 24, establishing important premises for R&D activities to accelerate the city’s technological development.

The three labs, built at a cost of almost 200 billion VND, provided by the State budget and financing from the Nidec Group, include a semiconductor chip technology lab, a nanotechnology research lab, and a precision mechanics and automation lab.

To mark the occasion, the R&D Centre signed three memorandums of understanding with partners. They include a MoU on linking research, training and high-tech production signed with the
International University, and a MoU on research and experimental production in the areas of electronic mechanics, automation and chip designing signed with the national main lab.

Another MoU addressing the transfer of technological ideas, test production and the commercialisation of Vietnam ’s fuel battery was signed by the nanotechnology research lab and the Mot Thoang Viet Nam Company.
