Department of Transport: Suggest withdrawal of two delayed port projects

Department of Transport dispatched an official letter to the provincial People’s Committee on additionally reporting the status of port project implementation in the province, including recommendation for withdrawal of two delayed port projects: Petroleum base services invested by Vung Tau Shipyard J.S.C and Thi Vai International Port of Vinakyoei Joint Venture Company.

Until late Quarter III/2010, the total value of planned port projects reached about VND25,124 billion, of which 21 ports in operation with total capital of nearly VND 10,000 billion, 10 port projects are under construction and 2 were put into operation but continued to improve with a total transferred capital of VND 13,290 billion, up 30% of the total registered capital; 22 projects are in preparation of investment with a total investment capital of about VND69,933 billion, implemented approximately VND1852 billion, primarily expenses for compensation and clearance.
