Leaders of the National Agency for Science and Technology Information met with the Japanese delegation of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Communications

On 10/3/2011, in Hanoi, Dr. Ta Ba Hung, Director of the National Agency for Science and Technology Information met with the Japanese delegation of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Communications led by Mr. Tetsuo Yamakawa, Deputy Minister to visit and work with the Agency’s leaders. Participating in the delegation were representatives from Japanese big groups as Toshiba, Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, telecommunication group NTT.

In the meeting, Director Ta Ba Hung introduced the overview of the Agency’s activities, units under the Agency and main tasks of the units. The Director emphasized on the issue of developing Vietnam’s information infrastructure and roles of the Information Agency to the development, especially network VinaRen, benefits brought in by VinaRen as online conference, research, forecast, surgery…and expected to improve the infrastructure of Vinaren network between Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh and Da Nang – Ho Chi Minh and the connection between Pacific and the US by broadband 1G.

The Director stated clearly desires to cooperation in the future with the Japanese side to develop direct big broadband transmission lines with this country, contributing to strengthen connections among universities and research institutes of the two countries.

On his side, Mr. Tetsuo Yamaka, Japanese Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and Communications expressed his thanks for the Director’s cordial welcome and meaning introduction. In the meeting, Japanese enterprises introduced about most modern environmental-friendly solutions and technologies as green ICT technology of telecommunication group NTT; Technology “Smart grid & Smart community” of Toshiba; cloud informatics technology Ipv6 of Mitsubishi…..

The two parties discussed on issues relating to new, clean and environmental-friendly technologies. Director Ta Ba Hung said that Vietnam has approved the Program on developing high technology products. Accordingly, Japanese enterprises can entirely hope to apply new, modern technology products of international level in Vietnamese market. The National Agency for Science and Technology Information would be ready to support Japanese enterprises to develop roadmaps, provide information on technology demands of Vietnamese market or technologies which Vietnam is moving towards. The Japanese’s above-mentioned technologies will be updated in the virtual techmart of the Agency at the soonest.
