In the working session, Mr. Norio Owada, Director of ABI Company introduced with the MOST’s delegation about the Company’s preservation technology for agricultural and aqua-cultural products called Cells Alive System (CAS). This is an advanced technology which helps agricultural and aqua-cultural products keep their tastes, colours and nutrition for a long period of time as compared to the traditional freezing preservation method. CAS technology will contribute to improve the international competitiveness in exporting agricultural and aqua-cutural products and ensuring food security as well as opening new applications in medical studies. Mr. Norio Owada expressed his desire to soon introduce CAS technology into use in Vietnam. Discussing with the ABI Company’s Director, Deputy Minister Tran Viet Thanh said that currently Vietnam has paid special attention to processing and preservation technologies for agricultural and aqua-cultural productions and CAS technology is one of those which can support Vietnam to improve more its competitiveness in exporting agricultural products. The Deputy Minister also thanked for good sentiments Mr. Norio Owada offered Vietnam’s MOST and would provided guidelines for domestic agencies to soon work out specific plans on promoting cooperation contents, technical exchanges and experience in post-harvesting preservation with ABI Company.

On August 29, 2011, the Ministry of Science and Technology’s delegation (MOST) led by Deputy Minister together with Vietnam’s Science and Technology Representative Section visited and worked with Japanese company, ABI to understand advanced preservation technologies for agricultural and aqua-cultural products.
