According to report of Department of Transportation, the volume of carriage of goods through sea-port system of province in 2011 reached 45 million tons, the volume of container goods reached about 5.5 million tons. At the moment, there are 24 ports put into operation, include: 14 ports at Thi Vai- Cai Mep area, 9 ports at Vung Tau-Long Son area and Con Dao is exploiting Ben Dam port.

In 2011, province exploited more than 3 ports, were: SITV, CMIT and PETEC (phase I) with capacity increased 20 million tons per year.
