The Cai Mep International Port (CMIT) has just set up two new achievements for the discharge capacity for Vietnam"s seaports. CMIT unloaded 2100 containers for the ship M/V "METTE MAERSK” of the Maersk Line fleet, with tonnage of 116,100, capable of carrying 9038 TEU within 11 hours and 30 minutes. The workable thickness is 183 moves / hour and efficiency of crane by 43 moves/ hour/ crane. Mr. Steen Davidsen - CMIT General Director - said, "This is the first time CMIT exceed 40 move / hour /crane and we believe that CMIT is the first container port in Vietnam achieves this efficiency. With the With the workable thickness of 183 moves / hour, only 5 STS quay cranes created a new important milestone for Vietnam’s seaports". Reportedly, CMIT has served 151 vessels landed for discharge of more than 351,000 TEU of goods imported and exported through Vietnam and the main commercial markets in North America, Europe and Asia.
