The Workshop was attended by experts of the US. DoE International Nuclear Safeguards and Engagement Program (INSEP) and participants from VARANS and VINATOM. In his opening speech, Deputy Director General Le Chi Dung appreciated support that INSEP provided to VARANS in nuclear safeguards field such as training, technical support, developing regulatory documents. He also emphasized the cooperation between VARANS and INSEP in exchange of information and experience on implementing the Safeguards Agreement and AP. This Workshop is one of the cooperation activities between 2 sides in 2013. During 3 days of the Workshop, experts provided lectures on neutron based quantification of uranium, ISOCS quantification of nuclear material. Participants was divided into groups that do exercises on handhelds material search and nuclide ID and HPGe energy calibration and nuclide ID.
Workshop on non destructive assay
From 27 to 29 March, Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety (VARANS) in collaboration with US. Department of Energy (US.DoE) organized the Workshop on non destructive assay. Dr. Le Chi Dung, Deputy Director General of VARANS came to attend and address opening speech.
