On 11 November, 2014 Center for Informatics, Technology and Science Information (Department of Science & Technology Ba Ria  - Vung Tau) held a report on “Information safety in modern information technology era” presented by Dr.Nguyen Anh Tuan, Dean of Computer Network and Media Faculty, University of Information Technology (UIT) - a member of Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM). There are about 150 participants’ from departments, authorities, party, universities, and colleges in the Province.  

On 11 November, 2014 Center for Informatics, Technology and Science Information (Department of Science & Technology Ba Ria  - Vung Tau) held a report on “Information safety in modern information technology era” presented by Dr.Nguyen Anh Tuan, Dean of Computer Network and Media Faculty, University of Information Technology (UIT) - a member of Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM). There are about 150 participants’ from departments, authorities, party, universities, and colleges in the Province.  

Purpose of report is to help delegates evaluate information safety situation in current period, hidden risks and build measures to improve prevention and support safety risks, information security, guarantee stability of information infrastructure, contributing to minimize damages, information leak of authorities, guarantee political stability and national defense security.  

Declared at the opening, Mr. Nguyen Kim Truong, Deputy Director of Ba Ria Vung Tau Department of Science & Technology said that according to result of survey program of BKAV in April 2013, damages due to computer virus are about 8000 billion VND every year. Calculated in February, 2014, there were about 2,852 new computer viruses in Vietnam, contamination over 4.6 million computer lines. According to statistics of Network Security Company Dailu total 1039 websites of Vietnam have been attacked in a beginning half of September, 2014 in which there are 30 websites of government authorities and 69 websites of Vietnam education authorities. In Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, information safety issue is cared by People’s Committee through Department of Information and Media. Department of Science & Technology authorized Center for Application of Science and Technology Improvement in combination with BKNET to hold 5 training classes on Internet Security, Center for Informatics and Science Technology Information held many seminars, reports on information safety.

At the report conference, Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan presented security of information safety for national major information system and information security on mobile devices. Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan warned dangerous risks from internet space. Besides, he also mentioned to install virus prevention software and update continuously; Design, build and use safety internet system for authorities; improve awareness on information security, understand contamination mechanism to prevent viruses as well as having information safety policy, investing more for infrastructure security on human and devices.
