On June 29th, the Department of Science and Technology held a Committee to select organization and individuals to implement the research project "Developing intensive farming for some high-yield plants in Tan Lam commune, Xuyen Moc district". Mr. Vuong Quang Can, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, was the chairman of the Committee.

MSc. Nguyen An De and his team from the South Eastern Fruit Research Center applied to implement the project.

The project aims to improve incomes for fruit farmers in Tan Lam commune, Xuyen Moc district, Ba Ria – Vung Tau province. The project is expected to diversify high-value agricultural products for locals and ensure food safety and hygiene. The research team will develop planting and caring procedures for pink flesh pomelo (called “Buoi Da Xanh”), yellow pulp longan (called “Nhan Xuong Com Vang”), Edor longan and pepper which are effectively applicable in Tan Lam commune.

After reviewing the project application documents, the Committee asked the team to modify some contents and approved of the team doing the research project.
