On the morning of June 9, at Vung Tau city, Department of Science and Technology of BR-VT province coordinated with the Institute of geophysics to organize a communication training to raise awareness about prevention and lightning protection for the community of Vung Tau city. Attending the training session, on the side of the Institute of geophysics, there were PhD. Nguyen Xuan Anh - Director of Institute of geophysics - Lecturer of the class. Towards the Department of Science and Technology, there is Mr. Do Huu Hien - Deputy Director of Department of Science and Technology, and nearly 200 students who are representatives of the People's Committee of the wards of Vung Tau City, Urban Management Division, Economic Department, Management Board of tourist areas, resorts and businesses in Back Beach, Vung Tau City.

The training aims are to deploy communication to raise awareness about prevention and lightning protection for the community of Vung Tau city.

At the training, PhD. Nguyen Xuan Anh said that Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has currently set up four early warning stations in Vung Tau and 10 lightning protection stations along the beaches. In three years of 2016, 2017 and 2018, there were people who were struck by lightning at the beach. The monitoring results also show that this is the place with the average lighning activity density, typical for the tropics (6.5 - 9.0 times/km²/year). The thunderstorm mechanism is characterized by the process of heat thunderstorms and systematic thunderstorms. It is mostly "heat thunderstorms" and occurs frequently in May and then September and October. In addition, it becomes stronger in the evening, at maximum around 17h.

Moreover, he shared the lightning protection methods for houses and constructions; directly hitting lightning protection solutions, lightning protection for electronic devices, lightning protection for humans and plans to use early lightning warning information./.
