On August 18, the Center for Information and Application of Science and Technology, Department of Science and Technology in collaboration with Think Smart Trading and Service Co., Ltd. organized a seminar reporting on the topic "Trends in applying 3D scanning and printing technology and simulation: product development solutions from design to manufacturing”

Mr. Cao Phuoc Loc, Deputy Director of the Center for Science and Technology Information and Application, said that 3D scanning, 3D printing and simulation technology is a developing trend in the world and Vietnam, applied in many fields from manufacturing, mechanics, archeology, healthcare to transportation, construction... However, in Ba Ria-Vung Tau, this technology is not yet known and applied by many businesses.

At the conference, the presenters introduced an overview of the application of 3D scanning and 3D printing in production, business and life in Vietnam. The advantages of this technology are that it can manufacture parts that require small sizes, details, and complexity. At the same time, it helps reduce production costs, reducing the need to stock spare parts, eliminating tooling, speeding up time to market and optimizings the supply chain.
