By 2010, more than 75 percent of Internet connected computers in the country will use the BKAV package.
According to BKIS statistics, more than 90,000 computers in the country are infected with viruses and dangerous codes spread through the Internet and USB drives each day. In 2007 alone, more than 80 percent of domestic web sites were at risk of being hacked and over 33 million computers were infected with viruses, causing 2.4 trillion VND in economic losses.
Founded in 2001, BKIS now boasts 150 antivirus software experts.
Vietnam’s anti-virus software used worldwide
A Vietnamese developed anti-virus software package, called BKAV, is now used in more than 90 countries by over 9.5 million people, said the BK Internetwork Security Centre (BKIS) of the Hanoi University of Technology
