According to the Culture, Sport and Tourism Department, the program of opening the Culture – Tourism Festival of Baria-Vungtau in 2010 is expected to take place from 1st to 10th of Lunar New Year’s Festival (Canh Dan Tet).

 Proposed programs will include four main activities: Ceremony of being the first New Year’s caller to tourist enterprises; firing cannon at Binh Gia (Chau Duc District) on the occasion of celebrating 45 years of Binh Gia victory; main opening ceremony in Vungtau City; ground-breaking ceremony and granting investment licenses for projects. Besides the two main places to hold the Opening Ceremony, other localities are encouraged to self-organize. The contents of the Opening Culture - Tourism Festival in 2010 is directed toward celebrating 1,000 years of Thang Long, focused on exploiting themes of sea, islands, oil and gas.

Within the framework of the Opening Culture - Tourism Festival will organize the second International Kite Festival in Vung Tau City from 8th to 10th of Lunar New Year’s Festival. The new point is Kite Festival will be held connecting from Hanoi to Hue to Ho Chi Minh City then to Vung Tau, expressing the desire to develop Southern land of our ancestors. Before Kite Festival, other provinces will organize activities related to kites in order to create joyful and excited atmosphere in the people.
