“Multiply Electronic Information Model of Science and Technology”

On 24th August, 2012, Approval Council led by Mr. Nguyen Kim Truong – Vice Director of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Department of Science and Technology organized a meeting to approve project chaired by Mr. Nguyen Van Quang under Center of Informatics, Technology and Science Information “Multiply Electronic Information model of Science and Technology to serve provincial rural and agriculture development”.

The project is deployed to provide technology and science information for provincial rural and agriculture development making contribution of rising production efficiency and intellectual level, helping local people approach progressive technology and science information for their production and daily life. The project will contribute to promote conversion in crop & domestic animal structure and speed up local social-economic development under direction of rural and agriculture industrialization and modernization. In addition, the project also provides a progressive and advantage communication tool on internet for local villages to introduce, broadcast and exchange information.

Since 2005, the model was carried out on trial in some villages, communes, towns. Currently, Ba Ria – Vung Tau province has been installing and operating 23 electronic information stations, especially rural area Con Dao in which electronic library has over 180, 000,000 information of science and technology. The province also has given lot of training classes regarding how to search and use information of science and technology for nearly 3000 clerks of these stations and farmers. 

Ba Ria – Vung Tau Department of Science and Technology will continue to multiply model of Electronic Information station widely in period of 2012-2013.  Twelve villages are selected for multiplying. Each village is connected to internet, has an electronic library and other office equipments. The province also builds 12 websites for 12 villages, gives trainings for operators how to collect, edit and update technical information into websites. 

After a short time of starting operation, the model has been highly appreciated by local farmers because of realistic diversity of information and knowledge from electronic libraries. Households got technical information from these stations to apply into their production with high economic effect. Lots of specific production models with high productivity are gradually established such as Mangosteen, Pomelo Nam Roi, forest pig, crocodile, frog, orchid, watermelon etc… 

From realistic results, Approval Council agreed to continue deploying and multiplying the project.
