On 6 December in Ba Ria City, Department of Science & Technology held the Conference to summarize 20 years of Science&Technology activities (1993-2013). Taking part in the Conference included Mr. Tran Quoc Khanh - Deputy Minister of Science & Technology; Mr. Nguyen Hong Linh – Alternate Member of Party Central, the Provincial Deputy Secretary, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council: Mr. Le Thanh Dung, Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee.

Currently in the Province, there are approximately 50 science & technology units, in which there is one provincial-class science & technology management unit, 8 district/city-class units, 7 scientific research and technological development centers and campuses, 6 colleges, universities and 20 units for scientific & technological research, consultancy, training. Science & Technology Sector has performed 291 provincial-class subjects and projects and about 500 commune/district-class subjects on many fields for 20 years. Many approved subjects, projects have been applied in production and daily life to serve social-economic development as well as supplying scientific proofs for research and cadre training.      

291 provincial-class subjects and projects and approximately 500 sector and enterprise-class subjects on different fields have been executed for 20 years. These subjects have been selected to apply in production and daily life, particularly in healthcare, agriculture, tourism etc contributing to speed up the Provincial social – economic development.    

With given achievements during 1993-2013, Department of Science & Technology and Quality Measurement Standard Bureau have been rewarded by the Ministry. People’s Committee of BR-VT Province also rewarded 5 teams including: Office of Sience & Technology, Financial Planning Department, Scientific Management Department, Center for Science & Technology Innovation Apply and Center for Science & Technology Informatics  & Information. Especially, Ministry of Science & Technology decided to present Badges “All for Science & Technology” to 39 individuals contributed a lot to scientific and technological activities for 20 years.     

Also in this conference, some discussions on applying science & technology innovations to production of units were presented. There are 2 teams awared and 39 individuals got badges by Ministry of Science & Technology; 5 teams and 8 individuals have been rewarded by the Provincial People’s Committee.
