Transimex–Saigon JSC began construction of a bonded warehouse and logistics centre on a 10ha area at the Sai Gon Hi-tech Park in HCM City on Wednesday.
Being built at a cost of VND600 billion (US$27.5 million), it will have bonded warehouses, container yards and other facilities that will be of ISO, HACCP, CTPAT and other international standards.
Construction is scheduled to finish early next year and the new facility will open in March.
Located in District 9 near the city beltway and with easy access to the Dong Nai – Binh Duong – Ba Ria–Vung Tau Development Triangle and HCM City's ports, the new facility will focus on developing logistics services by developing a professional, modern and efficient supply chain, according to Bui Tuan Ngoc, chairman of Transimex-Saigon.
It will meet the demand for logistical services of companies located both inside and outside the Sai Gon Hi-tech Park for both domestic distribution of goods, and import-export.
This is the first logistics project in the park, one of the biggest and most attractive destinations for foreign projects that include some by the world's biggest and most famous technology companies.
