On June 2nd, the training "Identify radioactive sources at metal scrap recycling facilities in Long Dien District" was held at Long Dien District Union Hall. Attending the training were more than 50 local government officers and owners of metal scrap recycling facilities Long Dien district.

On June 2nd, the training "Identify radioactive sources at metal scrap recycling facilities in Long Dien District" was held at Long Dien District Union Hall. Attending the training were more than 50 local government officers and owners of metal scrap recycling facilities Long Dien district.

Currently, metal scrap facilities are not equipped with necessary equipment to detect radioactive sources. Therefore increasing awareness and training in radioactive source detecting skill is critical to ensure radiation safety in these facilities. With this purpose, the Center for Scientific and Technological progress of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province held a training for locals in Long Dien district in collaboration with the Economic and Infrastructure Division of Long Dien District People’s Committee. Local government officers and scrap facility owners learned about how to identifying radioactive sources, preventative measures, how to response when radioactive sources are identified and how to support and coordinate with government agencies in management of radiation and nuclear safety. During the training, many questions and concerns related to radiation safety was addressed by trainers.
