2017 Ba Ria – Vung Tau Innovative Startup Contest Final

On January 5, the final round of the “2017 Ba Ria – Vung Tau Innovative Startup Contest” took place at Malibu Hotel (Vung Tau City). The event saw the presence of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Long – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Tran Van Khanh– Chairman of the Union of Science and Technology Associations, Mr. Mai Thanh Quang - Director of Department of Science and Technology, representatives from provincial departments and agencies, and entrepreneurs, corporates in the province.

The Innovative Startup Contest started in April when Decision about the Contest was issued by the provincial People's Committee (Decision No. 1054/QĐ-UBND). The Department of Science and Technology organized the contest in collaboration with relative government agencies, business associations, Vung Tau Chamber of Commerce, provincial Youth Union, universities and colleges in the province and entrepreneurship centers in HCMC. Supporting events included talks and trainings were held throughout the contest. There were a total of 85 projects submitted, and 19 of them make it to the final.


Prizes was awarded based on criteria such as, innovative degree, commercial viability, scale-up potential, social impact, resources and team.


The first prize was awarded to the solution “Supply points for ASOP irrigation systems for multi-annual trees”


Second prizes belong to two projects: “manufacturing of high capacity LEDs for marine exploitation” and “flexible flowering pepper farming”


Third prizes were awarded to the following projects:


1. Wcloud - World 360 Cloud Enterprise Solution.


2. Breaskfast for kids.


3. Design, install, and program horizontal fish finders.


Fourth Prizes was awarded to the following projects:


1. Tikiphache.com.


2. Odor-free and mosquito-free Drainage pits


3. High yield pepper farming


4. Orchid garden road stop in Ba Ria city


5. Restoring and developing the trademarkof BR-VT absinthe (RuouAp Anh).
