In the morning of June 24, at the Provincial Conference Center, the Provincial Party Committee held a conference on solutions to promote startup and innovation in BR-VT province to contribute ideas to the Draft Political Report to the Seventh Provincial Party Congress, term 2020-2025. Attending the conference, on the side of the provincial leaders, there were Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen - Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Head of the Delegation of the National Assembly; Mr. Le Ngoc Khanh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. On the side of Department of Science and Technology, there was Mr. Mai Thanh Quang - Director of Department of Science and Technology, and representatives of leaders of Departments, Committees, Branches, People's Committees of districts, towns and cities, business associations, experts and organizations supporting startup and innovation within and outside the province.

Opening remarks, Mr. Le Ngoc Khanh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that during the period of 2016-2020, the province has actively implemented many programs and policies to support the startup and innovation activities as the projects to support small and medium-sized enterprises, the science and technology program to support businesses on productivity improvement, products and goods quality. Initially, the province's basic startup and innovation ecosystem has been shaped and developped. Many businesses established and many startup projects with innovation as well as applying science and technology and new business models were formed to promote startup and innovation activities for startup community.

At the conference, the representative of Department of Science and Technology, Mr. Mai Thanh Quang reported on the situation of entrepreneurship development, innovation on BR-VT province period 2016-2020. It is known that, after 3 year, the province's startup and innovation ecosystem has gradually formed; startup activities have been organized such as training courses, conferences on creative startup; training programs, incubation and mentoring have been organized to support and complete many startup projects to market; many organizations supporting startup have been established in universities and colleges, business associations. The number of startup and innovation companies in the province is about 70. At present, the startup ecosystem in the province is in the middle of level 1 - The newly formed ecosystem and level 2 - The basic ecosystem.

In addition, the delegates also listened to the presentations and opinions of experts such as Mr. Pham Duy Hieu - Vice President of Vietnam S&T Enterprise Startup Fund shared ideas about leading thinking on building the ecosystem of local innovation and startups towards sustainable development; Mr. Nguyen Hoa Cuong - Deputy Director of Central Institute for Economic Management - Ministry of Planning and Investment discussed the content of enterprise development and supporting innovation in the context of industrial revolution 4.0; Mr. Nguyen Viet Duc - General Director of Innovation Capital Management discussed the construction and development of the investment and innovation ecosystem in the locality...

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen expressed her thanks and received the valuable suggestions of experts presented at the conference. After the conference, the Department of Science and Technology was assigned to synthesize suggestions on startup and innovation solutions of experts to report to the Provincial People's Committee for submission to the Provincial Standing Committee.
