The training course aims to disseminate legal documents related to atomic energy and radiation safety in health; raising awareness and responsibility as well as the role of staff and technicians working in the field of irradiation in health. At the same time, it provides solutions and orientations in controlling patient irradiation doses to facility leaders, managers, and in charge of radiation safety at diagnostic imaging facilities.

It is known that the application of radiation equipment has brought about great effects in the imaging, diagnosis and treatment of people, as well as creating favorable conditions for businesses, research and learning.  However, radiation exposure has caused significant impacts on the environment and health of those exposed to radiation. Therefore, through the training session, the trainees will comprehend and promote their knowledge positively in their work, contributing to ensuring a safe working environment.

The trainees also listened to the contents related to the safe use of radiation equipment, such as the situation of radiation safety management in health in BR-VT province; the concept of irradiation in medicine; optimization measures in medical dose control, measures to ensure radiation safety in diagnosis of x-rays, control of patient doses; system of legal regulations on radiation safety.

In order to improve the effectiveness of radiation management and control in the province, the Department of Science and Technology continues to do well the propaganda, dissemination and education of the laws to improve knowledge for owners of medical facilities and people directly working with radiation equipment to protect themselves against the risk of radiation exposure. Additionally, the Department will regularly coordinate with the province's functional agencies to strengthen inspection and examination; strictly handle violations to ensure that the operators that use of radiation equipment are in accordance with regulations. Moreover, promoting training and fostering knowledge for the state management officials on radiation safety to ensure good services to professional activities will be implemented.
