Thematic report "Women of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province with Intellectual Property - Promoting creativity and innovation"

On April 20, 2023, the Center for Information and Application of Science and Technology - Department of Science and Technology in collaboration with the Provincial Women's Union organized a thematic report "Women of the province Ba Ria - Vung Tau with Intellectual Property - Promoting creativity and innovation”. Attending the report, there were Mr. Tran Giang Khue - Head of Southern Representative Office - Intellectual Property Office of Viet Nam as the main reporter, along with nearly 100 delegates and guests who are members of the Women's Union in districts, towns and cities ​​in the province.

Intellectual property (IP) - one of the three pillars of modern international trade has increasingly proven to play an important role in encouraging technological research and development, improving the quality of goods, creating prestige, thereby increasing the commercial value of products. Intellectual property drives creativity and innovation, improving lives, growing economies and addressing global challenges. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to use of human resources, including the role of women. In fact, without the participation of women will not be able to fully promote the benefits of IP with creativity and innovation.

In order to spread the spirit of innovation as well as to raise awareness for women in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province about World Intellectual Property Day 2023, the reporters shares contents focusing on issues topics. Firstly, overview of IP, the role of IP rights in encouraging innovation; Secondly, consulting and supporting women's enterprises, cooperatives, cooperative groups, individual business households to register trademarks, and product brand protection; registering IP for inventions, production products/key products and local specialties; Thirdly, the importance of protecting IP rights for the creation of products, creativity in labor and learning; Fourthly, overview of the implementation plan of the IP Strategy to 2030 in the province of BR-VT; Finally, implementation and guide relating to the "Next thinking" toolkit to explore ideas and to solve problems to promote innovation.

In recent years, the state management of IP in the province of BR-VT has achieved many positive results. Propaganda and training on IP are interested in contributing to raising awareness, disseminating legal policies on IP for people, manufacturers and businesses in the province through information publications, thematic reports, conferences ... In which, propaganda on IP rights for women is very necessary.  The enforcement of IP rights protection has a close coordination between relevant agencies, contributing to the effective handling of complaints, ensuring the rights and interests of owners as well as law enforcement. In the coming time, the Department of Science and Technology and related agencies and units will continue to pay attention and effectively implement solutions to promote cooperation and association between the start-ups with scientists and investors to improve the competitiveness of women's start-up. In addition, linkage and trade promotion for the province's key products and goods in the market will be implemented.
