On August 24, 2024, the Department of Science and Technology organized a scientific conference "Seeking expert’s opinions on determining the scale, type, and goals of the Marine Science and Technology Park Project in Ward 12, Vung City in line with the socio-economic development orientation of BR-VT province." Attending and co-chairing the conference were Mr. Pham Quang Nhat - Director of the Department of Science and Technology, Mr. Truong Thanh Cong - Chairman of the Union of Science and Technology Associations of BR-VT province, along with scientists, leading experts on policy and investment; science - technology; seaport, logistics; industrial; tourism; oil, gas and energy,... coming from inside and outside the province; Representatives of leaders of departments, branches, branches, Vung Tau City People's Committee, universities and relevant agencies in the province.

The workshop was organized for the purpose of consulting experts in redefining the scale, type, and goals of the Marine Science and Technology Park (S&T) Project in Ward 12, Vung Tau City, ensuring compliance with the socio-economic development orientation of BR-VT province according to Decision No. 1629/QD-TTg dated December 16, 2023 of the Prime Minister and Conclusion and Notice No. 1972-TB /TU dated March 8, 2024 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee.

Speaking at the opening ceremony at the workshop, Mr. Pham Quang Nhat - Director of the Department of Science and Technology hoped that through the seminar, he would receive many opinions from experts, scientists and consulting delegates on determining review the scale, type, objectives, and organization of developing investment plans of the Marine Science and Technology Park Project to ensure investment efficiency for the entire project; avoiding wasting investment capital and duplication in the project's field of activities. At the same time, it is consistent with the resources to operate the project and the ability to balance the province's budget capital.

With 12 presentations and direct opinions at the conference, experts clarified the strategic directions for the Marine Science and Technology Park Project, ensuring compliance with socio-economic development policies and defense and security of the Southeast region until 2030, with a vision to 2045. Experts have proposed specific development models and investment plans, especially emphasizing the integration of modern technology and innovation to enhance the operational efficiency of this area.
