VietNamNet Bridge – Statistics of the Back Khoa Internet Security Centre (BKIS), the leading anti-virus software producer in Vietnam, show that up to 1.256 million computers in Vietnam were attacked by virus W32.Kavo, sourced from China, and its versions in June.

BKIS Director Nguyen Tu Quang said 639 new versions of W32.Kavo virus appeared daily in June, averaging 21.3 new viruses a day – a fast rate of transformation for a computer bug.

Recorded for the first time on September 11, 2007, a total of 3,191 versions of W32.Kavo have been dispersed on the Internet.

Computers infected with this bug will lose control, personal information, and can’t use Yahoo! Messenger.

Meanwhile, according to BKIS, some websites named “hack game” have recently attracted many gamers.

These websites advertise that they can hack popular online games in Vietnam like Vo Lam Truyen Ky, Thien Long Bat Bo and Audition. According to advertisements, gamers can save money by buying game cards and registering on these websites to get much higher amounts of money on their game accounts.

However, after gamers register and fill out information on the cards on these websites, the information will not be registered to their accounts but sent to the hackers’ emails.

These websites often have interfaces similar to online game websites.
