Online science and technology advisory Council evaluates technology to adjust the project "Quy Tien waste treatment plant"

On June 25, the Department of Science and Technology of BR-VT province held an online science and technology advisory Council to evaluate technology to adjust the project "Quy Tien waste treatment Plant" at the waste treatment Area of 100 ha Toc Tien according to Decision No. 66/QD-SKHCN dated June 14, 2021. The Council was chaired by Mr. Nguyen Cong Danh - Director of the Department of Science and Technology.

It is known that Quy Tien waste treatment Plant has been granted by Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment at Decision No. 1866/QĐ-BTNMT on August 2, 2017; granted the second hazardous waste treatment license on May 13, 2021 with hazardous waste management Code: 3-5-6.116.VX. In the first 6 months of 2020, due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, the company's waste collection volume was about 106 tons/day, of which the waste volume that could be burned was about 70 tons/day. In the last 6 months of 2020, the amount of waste that can be burned will increase to about 100 tons/day. However, the difficult problem in the waste treatment of the existing plant is that the current incinerator capacity is licensed 24 tons/day, which accounts for a very small proportion of the waste that the company collects.

Project of Adjustment of Quy Tien waste treatment plant Project is hosted by Quy Tien Environment Company Limited. It will invest in a waste incinerator, generating electricity with a capacity of 5MW, with an incinerator capacity of 200 tons/day, replacing 02 existing hazardous waste incinerators. The project will help to solve the urgent needs for waste in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. In addition, the project does not generate other factors such as land, construction land area produce electricity to both serve the plant's electricity demand and supply electricity to the National grid.

At the meeting, after discussing issues on scientific basis, technology, equipment and some other issues of the project, Council members agreed with the proposed policy of the project. . However, it is necessary to clarify, edit and complete the technology dossier according to the opinions of the members of the Council.
