By working with partners, Wireless Reach projects create new ways for people to communicate, access health care and reach global markets Qualcomm, a developer of wireless technologies and data solutions, has announced that it is working to improve access to education tools and resources through the provision of CDMA2000 1xEV-DO wireless broadband services at the Community Technology and Learning Center (CTLC) in Dong Anh, Vietnam. The Community Technology and Learning Center (CTLC) is part of the Training Online Programs and Incubation for Communities (TOPIC64) initiative, supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) ' + char(39)+ N's public/private partnership agreement with Qualcomm through its Wireless Reach initiative and other TOPIC64 partners.

On the second of April 2008, the BR – VT PPC held a meeting, chaired by Mr. Tran Minh Sanh, the PPC Chaiman to review DoST’s executive results and achievements of the approved yearly plan of 2007 as well as to discuss advantage and disadvantage of implementation of yearly plan 2008 and the progress of pilot project on preventing coastal erosion and study of anti-water whirlpool in the province.

The Review Meeting of the Ordinance on Radiation Safety and Control was held in Ha Noi (16/04/2008)

Under direction of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) Leader, the Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety and Control (VARANSAC) held the Review Meeting of the Ordinance on Radiation Safety and Control on March 26th, 2008 in Hanoi. Attending the meeting were the MOST Vice Minister, Mr. Nguyen Van Lang, who opened the Meeting, and more than two hundreds representatives from various Ministries, provincial Departments of Science and Technology (DOSTs), radiation users, radioactive source dealer, and several centers providing training service on radiation safety.

Network Security: A Persistent Problem (02/04/2008)

When 1,400 companies around the world were questioned by McAfee (working with Datamonitor), it was found that 67 percent of companies had lost private data with corresponding negative repercussions and 33 percent have had privacy invasions that could result in their "closing the door".
