On May 17, the Department of Science and Technology of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province held a council to consult, evaluate and accept the project "Research, restoration and development of Chau Ro folk performing arts, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province". Attending the council were Mr. Tran Duy Tam Thanh, Deputy Director of Department of Science and Technology, Chairman of the Council.

The objectives of the project include research and restoration Chau Ro folk performing arts programs and preserving the cultural identity and values ​​of Chau Ro folk arts. Additionally, the project contributes to promote the image, homeland and people of Ba Ria - Vung Tau, on the way of construction, development and international integration, serving for tourism.

The project is chaired by the Provincial Center for Culture and Arts from January 2022 to May 2023. Over the time of implementation, the research team completed 05 key tasks such as collecting and studying the characteristics of Chau Ro folk performing arts, restoration of Chau Ro folk performing arts, building a number of performances to serve the public, restoration of folk festivals in the community: Op Yang Va Festival, evaluating and proposing solutions and directions to preserve and develop Chau Ro folk performing arts, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.

The project collected 82 folk songs, 07 dances and 08 types of folk musical instruments. In addition, the project organizes a workshop with the theme "Voice from Chau Ro ethnic community" and  restores the original Chau Ro folk performing arts with the theme "Love of the land, love of Chau Ro people". The project also restores, develops and improves Chau Ro folk performing arts with the theme "Colors of Chau Ro" … The project received many valuable scientific reports on research on Chau Ro folk performing arts and solutions to preserve and develop Chau Ro folk performing arts.

The council assessed that the research results of the project have contributed to preserving the cultural identity and values of Chau Ro folk arts. However, it is necessary to edit and complete the topic according to the comments of the council members.
