On the day of January 1st, 2010 the Department of Science and Technology held a field inspection test the project “Developing a synthetic agricultural model at household scale in the area of Dat Do District”, Mr. Ta Van Buu, an agricultural engineers, is the master of the project. The origin of the project is from the results of theme “Researching to perfect some synthetic models of agriculture which are appropriate for Long Tan Commune, Dat Do District in 2003 – 2004” of the author Dr. Bui Xuan An (University of Agriculture and Forestry, HCM City).

The project aims to raise and stabilize the income of households on the basis of rational use of resources available in locality; transferring plant and animal structure, application of new varieties with high yield. Forming a closed process with interactive help each other to reduce production costs, diminishing environmental pollution; increasing income for households participating in the project and overcoming the uncertain price of agricultural products.

Results from the project, households after transferring to the production model VACR (gardens, ponds, cages, field) and VAR (gardens, cages, field) showing that income of the year of the households has increased from 17% to 78% compared with the old ways. Improving the system by increasing the relationship between the compositions of the system has raised efficiency of using resources in agricultural households like land, water and labors. In the systems applied in these agricultural households, the system with fish ponds has the highest economic efficiency.
