After-test acceptance of a scientific theme: overall assessment of the state of erosion and siltation of coastal zone from Vung tau to Binh chau to propose remedial solutions

On April 15, Department of Science and Technology organized a meeting to check and take over a scientific theme: “Overall assessment of the state of erosion and siltation of coastal zone from Vung tau to Binh chau to propose remedial solutions” conducted by Institute of Coastal and Offshore Engineering (falling under Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) and chaired by Associate Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Thế Biên.

On April 15, Department of Science and Technology organized a meeting to check and take over a scientific theme: “Overall assessment of the state of erosion and siltation of coastal zone from Vung tau to Binh chau to propose remedial solutions” conducted by Institute of Coastal and Offshore Engineering (falling under Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) and chaired by Associate Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Thế Biên.


The theme aims at studying and assessing overall assessment of the state of erosion and siltation of coastal zone from Vung tau to Binh chau; as well as proposing specifically remedial solutions.

The researching team has synthesized, analyzed and treated results from over 30 study-related thems/projects done previously; as well as carried out survey and field research in coastal zone from Vung tau to Binh chau. Combined with application of numerical value mode and GIS… authors have defined the overall assessment of the state of erosion and siltation of coastal zone from Vung tau to Binh chau.  Besides, they have also proposed 2 remedial solutions to improve the aforementioned state including work-uncombined/combined solutions for protecting the coast from erosion.

The Scientific Committee highly appreciated the theme results in terms of scientific and practical aspects. By performing the theme, the given objectives have been dealt with… However, to finalize the theme report, the Committee asked the authors to amend the laid-out report and to bring out the meaning of the theme conclusion. Theme was accepted and ranked as above average.
