On 14 September 2012, Technology & Science Department of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province organized a council to approve the subject “Health, mentality – psychology of students of secondary schools in Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province, current status and measures”. This includes 2 documents, the first documents belongs to Doctor Nguyen Minh Duc and MA. Nguyen Thanh Giang (Southern Environment – Technique – Economics Union) and the second document is of Doctor CKI. Ngo Thanh Phong (Ba Ria – Vung Tau Mental Hospital).

Vietnamese population is about 80 million people, in which number of children under 16 year old accounts for 50% and a recent survey shows that 19,46% students from 10 - 16 year old gets mental problem, and within this age, number of suicide concerned mentality accounts for 10%. Besides, behavior trouble such as motorcycle race, team unconsciousness, team suicide, school violence causes us to jump and worry.

According to a research of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Mental Hospital in 2011, student rate in Chau Duc district within 12 – 15 year old getting mental trouble accounts for 20,91%. Number of anxious and depression students which causes lack of pleasure to learn, entertainment, unreasonable thought, lack of reality, deviation, pester the life of other members if the family and society.

This researched subject is necessary to prevent mental harms, disturbance of secondary school’s students, to reduce burden for the society and to build and supply young manpower with high qualifications for Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province in the future.

After listening two subjects, the Council agrees to choose the document of Doctor CKI. Ngo Thanh Phong (Ba Ria – Vung Tau Mental Hospital), which has enough vital conditions to perform.
