The selection of project lead for the research “Study Ba Ria – Vung Tau young companies’ performance during 2010-2015 and propose solutions to improve entrepreneurial performance”

On August 5th, the Department of Science and Technology held a committee to select project leader and organization to implement the research “Study Ba Ria – Vung Tau young companies’ performance during 2010-2015 and propose solutions to improve entrepreneurial performance”. The committee is chaired by Assistant Professor PhD. Mai Thanh Phong – Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (UCMUT) and Director of HCMUT - Technology Business Incubator.

On August 5th, the Department of Science and Technology held a committee to select project leader and organization to implement the research “Study Ba Ria – Vung Tau young companies’ performance during 2010-2015 and propose solutions to improve entrepreneurial performance”. The committee is chaired by Assistant Professor PhD. Mai Thanh Phong – Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (UCMUT) and Director of HCMUT - Technology Business Incubator.

The purpose of the study is propose solutions and policies to support entrepreneurs and improve business environment by surveying the current situation of Ba Ria – Vung Tau enterprises during the 2010-2015 period and studying determinants of successful entrepreneurship in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province, which include factors relating to entrepreneurs’ capabilities, motivation and business environment.
Three proposals were submitted, including:

1) First research proposal:

- Project leader: PhD. Ngo Quang Huan

- Implementing organization: The University of Economics - Ho Chi Minh City 

2) Second research proposal:

- Project leader: MA. Tran Thi Tham Ngoc

- Implementing organization: The Directorate of Standard, Metrology and Quality of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province 

3) Third research proposal:

- Project leader: PhD. Le Cao Thanh

- Implementing organization: The Center of Financial Training – Southern Branch (The Institute of Financial Training).

After reviewing research applications, the selection committee agreed to select the application by MA. Tran Thi Tham Ngoc to implement. The Committee also suggested several modifications to be made in the research proposal before implementing.
