On May 12, 2020, the Department
of Science and Technology organized an Advisory Council to evaluate and accept
the project “Piloting the application of warning technology, early detection of
swirling ponds and Rip current in Bai Sau area of Vung Tau City”. Chairman of
the Council is Mr. Đỗ Hữu Hiền - Deputy Director of Department of Science and
Technology. The project is headed by Assoc. Prof. Mai Thế Công. The Vietnam
Netherlands Center for Water and Environment is the lead agency.
On
May 06, the Department of Science and Technology organized an Advisory Council
to evaluate and accept the project "Research and application of some
finished products containing nanosilver to prevent diseases and increase
productivity on some vegetables in Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province". Chairman
of the Council is Mr. Mai Thanh Quang - Director of Department of Science and
Technology. The project is headed by Msc. Chu Trung Kien, Institute of Agricultural Science for
Southern Vietnam is the lead agency.

In the morning of January 14, the Spring
Canh Ty Newspaper Association 2020 in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, the 22nd, with
the theme “Ba Ria-Vung Tau Press continues to innovate and to create for the development
of industrialization and modernization of the homeland and the country”, was organized
by the Provincial Journalists Association in coordination with the Department
of Information and Communications, at the Vung Tau City Library, took place at
the library of Vung Tau.

In
the afternoon of November 18, Thua Thien Hue Province delegations led by Ms.
Tran Thi Thuy Yen - Deputy Director of Department of Science and Technology
visited and worked with Department of Science and Technology of BR-VT province
on startup and innovation. Receiving the delegation, there was Mr. Mai Thanh
Quang - Director of Department of Science and Technology and representatives of
departments, branches in the province.
Workshop on the Scheme of Innovation and Start-up Center in BR-VT Province (20/11/2019)
In the afternoon of November
14, the Department of Science and Technology in collaboration with the
Provincial College of Technology held a workshop on the Scheme of establishing
BR-VT Innovation and Start-up Center. Attending the workshop were Mr. Mai Thanh
Quang - Director of Department of Science and Technology, Mr. Ngo Xuan Khoat -
Vice Rector of the Provincial College of Technology, Mr. Tran Le Quan Ngoc -
Expert of Singapore Production Technology Research Institute (SIMTECH), Mr.
Nguyen Hoa Cuong - Director of National Innovation Center - Ministry of
Planning and Investment and representatives of leaders of departments, boards, branches,
provinces, universities, volleges, other organizations that support for
start-up inside and outside the province.
Opening Ceremony "Office for Promotion Start-up Innovation in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province" (02/08/2019)
In
the morning of July 31, 2019, Department of Science and Technology held the
Opening Ceremony of "Office for Promotion Start-up Innovation in Ba
Ria-Vung Tau province" at Vung Tau City. Attending the event, on the side of the
Provincial People's Committee, there was Mr. Tran Van Tuan - Vice Chairman of
BR-VT People's Committee; on the Ministry of Science and Technology, there was
Mr. Vuong Duc Tuan - Deputy Director of the National Office in Southern Region;
on the side of the Department of Science and Technology of the province, there was
Mr. Mai Thanh Quang - Director of Department of Science and Technology and
representatives of leaders of departments, agencies, provincial union, associations,
universities, colleges, start-up support organizations in and outside the
province, investors and advisors for start-up.
On
the morning of July 24, the Department of Science and Technology organized a
Advisory Council to select organizations and individuals to implement the
project "Collection and introduction of Vietnamese folk literature (Kinh
people) in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province" . Chairman of the Council is Mr.
Mai Thanh Quang - Director of Department of Science and Technology. There are two
applications for selection: University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho
Chi Minh City and BR-VT province Literature and Arts Association.
Training on information safety on mobile devices for office staff (17/06/2019)
On
the morning of May 31, the Center for Application of Scientific and
Technological Advances (Department of Science and Technology) in collaboration
with the HCM City Cyber Security College held a training course on “Information
security on mobile devices”. Attending the training was Mr. Nguyen Kim Truong -
Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, with more than 90
students who are office staff in departments, agencies, People's Committees of
districts, towns and cities in BR-VT province.

On the morning of May 17, State Agency for Technology Innovation in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology of BR-VT province held an Opening Ceremony of the technological supply and demand connection point of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.
Finals and awards ceremony of BR-VT province’s Startup Innovation Contest in 2018-2019 (06/05/2019)
On April 26, 2019, the Final and Awards Ceremony of BR-VT province's Startup Innovation Contest in 2018-2019 were took place at Vung Tau city. Attending this event was Mr. Le Tuan Quoc - Vice Chairman of BR-VT People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong - Deputy Director of the National Office in Southern Region (Ministry of Science and Technology) and members of the Contest Organisers (in which Mr. Mai Thanh Quang - Director of the Department of Science and Technology is the Head of the Competition), with representatives of departments and agencies, start-up support organizations inside and outside the province, young business associations, individuals and startup businesses in the province.
