On the morning of November
22nd, Department of Science and Technology held the Advisory Council to
evaluate results of the pilot project on Smart Intersection (at the junction of
Huynh Minh Thach and 27/4 Phuoc Buu town, Xuyen Moc district). The Council is
chaired by Mr. Mai Thanh Quang - Director of Department of Science and
Technology. The project is lead by MSc. Le Thi Quynh Trang, and hosted by
theCenter for Application of Scientific and Technological Advances.

On the morning of November 13th, in Ba Ria city, the Center for Application of Scientific and Technological Advances -Department of Science and Technology held a conference on "Application of Biotechnology in Agriculture and Sustainable Development " The conference was co-chaired by Mr. Do Huu Hien - Director of Center for Application of Scientific and Technological Advances, Mr. Nguyen Chi Duc - Director of theDepartment of Planting and Plant Protection. Participants in the conference includes experts from Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ho Chi Minh City, Institute of Biotechnology and Food Technology –Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City and delegates from local departments, agencies, business and cooperatives in the province.

On the afternoon of July 25,
1818, in Vung Tau City, the Union of Science and Technology Association of Ba
Ria – Vung Tau province held a ceremony to launch the Club of Intellectuals and
Entrepreneurs of the province. The event saw the presence of Mr. Hoang Van
Quang - Deputy Head of the Department of Propaganda and Education – Provincial
Party Committee, representatives of provincial departments, entrepreneurs and
intellectuals.
On the morning of June 13, the Department of Science and
Technology organized a review Committee for evaluation and acceptance of the research
project “Application of technical advances in intensive farming at orchards of
Long Phuoc commune, Ba Ria city". Chairman of the board is Mr. Mai Thanh
Quang - Director of Department of Science and Technology. The project is led by
MSc. Mai Van Tri and hosted by the Southeastern Fruit Research Institute.
On June 22, Department of Science and Technology organized a ReviewCommittee to evaluate thepilot project “Design, manufacturing and installation of the automatic system for measuring, analyzing, monitoring and early warning of water quality in aquaculture farms at Cha Va River, Ba Ria Vung Tau Province". Chairman of the committee is Mr. Nguyen Kim Truong–Deputy Director of Department of Science and Technology. The project is led by Dr Le Ngoc Tran, director of Marine Economics Instituteand hosted by Ba Ria - Vung Tau University.
