On
the afternoon of April 25, 2019, the Department of Science and Technology
organized an Advisory Council to evaluate and accept the project “Building a
pilot model to apply hydroponic technology to greening the office at the
Department of Science and Technology of Ba Ria - Vung Tau”. Chairman of the Council
is Mr. Mai Thanh Quang - Director of Department of Science and Technology. The
project is headed by Mrs. Ma Thi Anh Thu. The Center for Application of
Scientific and Technological Advances is the lead agency.
On the morning of April 23, the
Department of Science and Technology organized an Advisory Council to evaluate
and accept the project "Research on conservation of the endemic custard
apple genome (Na) of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province". Chairman of the Council is
Mr. Mai Thanh Quang - Director of Department of Science and Technology. The project
is headed by Mr. Do Van Thinh, Southeastern Fruit Research Center is the lead
agency.
On the morning of April 16, the
Department of Science and Technology organized an Advisory Council to select
organizations and individuals to implement the project "Research and
building a model of Stingless beekeeping to get honey in Ba Ria - Vung Tau
province". Chairman of the council is Mr. Mai Thanh Quang - Director of
Department of Science and Technology. The project is headed by Mr. Ngo Quang
Huong, Southern Bee Research Center is the lead agency.
BR-VT Province: Receiving and working with the French expert delegation about Oceanographic Zone (17/04/2019)
On the afternoon of April 11, 2019, People's Committee of BR-VT province
held a meeting and worked with the delegation of French Oceanographic experts headed
by Mr. Michel Morvan - President of the Bretagne Occidentale Marine Institute
of France . To welcome the delegation, on the side of the BR-VT People's
Committee, there were Mr. Le Tuan Quoc and Mr. Tran Van Tuan - Vice Chairman of
the BR-VT People's Committee, on the side of the Department of Science and
Technology, there was Mr. Mai Thanh Quang - Director of the Department of
Science and Technology, and representatives of the leaders of departments and
agencies in the province.

On the morning 26th March, the Department of Science and Technology
organised an Advisory Council to select an organisation to implement the
project “Building a model of large-scale marine fish farming using HDPE plastic
cages and high technology in the sea areas of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province”. The
chairman of the Council is Mr. Mai Thanh Quang – Director of the Department of Science
and Technology. The project is led by MSc. Nguyen Xuan Toan and South Research
Sub-Institute for Marine Fisheries is the lead agency.
Workshop on "Application of artificial intelligence and data science in production and life" (14/12/2018)
On
the morning of December 11, in Vung Tau City, the Department of Science and
Technology held a seminar on "Application of artificial intelligence and
data science in production and life" to update knowledge on artificial
intelligence (AI) and data science in the digital transition era as well as
trends in the application of artificial intelligence in the field of medical,
electronics, logistics, transportation, education, agriculture and other
potential fields of Vietnam. This helps organizations, enterprises, academics,
young intellectuals, people in the province understand and raise awareness
about AI, data science as well as application of AI in management, production
and life.

22nd, Department of Science and Technology held the Advisory Council to
evaluate results of the pilot project on Smart Intersection (at the junction of
Huynh Minh Thach and 27/4 Phuoc Buu town, Xuyen Moc district). The Council is
chaired by Mr. Mai Thanh Quang - Director of Department of Science and
Technology. The project is lead by MSc. Le Thi Quynh Trang, and hosted by
theCenter for Application of Scientific and Technological Advances.
Conference on "Application of Biotechnology in Agriculture and Sustainable Development" (20/11/2018)
On the morning of November 13th, in Ba Ria city, the Center for Application of Scientific and Technological Advances -Department of Science and Technology held a conference on "Application of Biotechnology in Agriculture and Sustainable Development " The conference was co-chaired by Mr. Do Huu Hien - Director of Center for Application of Scientific and Technological Advances, Mr. Nguyen Chi Duc - Director of theDepartment of Planting and Plant Protection. Participants in the conference includes experts from Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ho Chi Minh City, Institute of Biotechnology and Food Technology –Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City and delegates from local departments, agencies, business and cooperatives in the province.
