Conference on dissemination of laws on radiation safety in 2018 (16/05/2018)
With the permission of the Provincial People's Committee, on April 27, in Vung Tau city, the Department of Science and Technology coordinated with the Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety (VARANS) to hold a conference on laws on radiation safety in 2018. Attending the conference were Mr. Le Quang Hiep - Deputy Director of Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety, Mr. Nguyen Kim Truong - Deputy Director of Department of Science and Technology and representatives from governemnt departments, city and district People's Committees, representatives of radiation facilities in industry and medical organizations in the province.

On April 6, Ba Ria – Vung Tau’s Provincial People's Committee in cooperation with the Vietnam Startup Foundation (SVF) held a conference on “Connecting resources to support Ba Ria – Vung Tau startups". The event saw the presence of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Long, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee - Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee to support startups in Ba Ria – Vung Tau; Mr. Nguyen Van Dong, Member of the Standing Committee of the provincial Party Committee - Head of the Provincial Commission for Mass Mobilization; Mr. Tran Van Tuan, Provincial Committee Member - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Mai Thanh Quang, Director of Department of Science and Technology; Mr. Pham Duy Hieu, Director of Startup Vietnam Foundation; representatives from government departments, committees, district People's Committees; and nearly 300 representatives of from businesses, universities, start-ups, universities and youth unions.
On December 28, the Department of Science and
Technology (S & T) organized anevaluation council to evaluate and test the
implementation of the theme "Establishing rights, managing and exploiting
collective mark Vung Tau Bread of BaRia - Vung Tau Province ". Chairman of
the board is Mr. Nguyen Kim Truong - Deputy Director of the Department of
Science and Technology. The project is led by Prof. Dam Sao Mai, co-led by Laywer Duong Thanh Long. The Institute of Biotechnology and
Food is the lead agency.
Evaluation of the study "History of foreign affairs of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province” (20/03/2018)
On December 22nd, the
Department of Science and Technology (S & T) held a Council meeting to
evaluate the study "History of foreign affairs of Ba Ria - Vung Tau
province(1975 - 2015)". The chairman of the Council is Mr. Nguyen Kim
Truong - Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology. The
project is led by Ms. Do NguyetHuong, co-led by Dr. Nguyen Dinh Thong. Ba Ria -
Vung Tau Association of History Science (BR-VT) is the lead agency.
The 2016-2017 Ba Ria- Vung Tau Innovative Idea Contest Award Ceremony (20/03/2018)
On the morning of January 10, 1818, the Department of Science and Technology (S & T) organized the "The 2016-2017 Ba Ria- Vung Tau Innovative Idea Contest Award Ceremony". Attending the ceremony were Mr. Le Van Minh – Provincial Party Member, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union of BR-VT province, Ms. Nguyen Van Anh - Deputy Director of Budget Economy, People’s Council of BR-VT province. The event saw the presence of Mr. Mai Thanh Quang - Director of Department of Science and Technology - Head of Contest Organizer, together with leaders of departments, People's Committees of districts and cities; institutes, schools, enterprises; Members of the Organizing Committee and Secretariat Committee and authors of winning prizes.
2017 Ba Ria – Vung Tau Innovative Startup Contest Final (20/03/2018)
On January 5, the final
round of the “2017 Ba Ria – Vung Tau Innovative Startup Contest” took place at Malibu
Hotel (Vung Tau City). The event saw the presence of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Long –
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Tran Van Khanh–
Chairman of the Union of Science and Technology Associations, Mr. Mai Thanh
Quang - Director of Department of Science and Technology, representatives from
provincial departments and agencies, and entrepreneurs, corporates in the
province.
Acceptance of projects in the Science and Technology Supporting Program, 8th phase in 2017 (20/03/2018)

December 28, the Department of Science and Technology organized an evaluation
council to evaluate the completion of projects participated in the business
support program:"Science and Technology Program to Support Enterprises to
Improve Productivity and Quality of Goods in BR -VT province in the period

Construction begins on US$5.4 bln petrochemical project (26/02/2018)
PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc on February 24 attended the groundbreaking ceremony of US$4.5 billion Long Son petrochemical complex in Vung Tau City of the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.
