On June 1, Department of Science
and Technology organized an Advisory Council to select organizations and individuals
to implement the project "Assessing the current status of Dugong
population and seagrass ecosystem in Con Dao, proposing management and
conservation measures”. Chairman of the council is Mr. Do Huu Hien - Deputy
Director of Department of Science and Technology. There are three applications
for selection: Institute of Marine Environment and Resources, Center for
Conservation of Biodiversity and Endangered Species, South Research
Sub-Institute for Marine Fisheries.

On May 28, Department of Science
and Technology organized an Advisory Council to select the pilot production project:
Building organic production models of VietGAP longan in Ba Ria – Vung Tau.
Chairman of the council is Mr. Tran Duy Tam Thanh - Deputy Director of
Department of Science and Technology. The project is headed by MSc Chu Trung
Kien, the Institute of Agricultural Science for Southern Viet Nam is the lead
agency.
On May 22, the Department of Science and
Technology organized a Council to select the project “Building production
processes and rearing of triploid Pacific Hatchery Oyster (Crasostrea gigas) in
BR-VT from tetraploid male oysters imported”. Chairman of the council is Mr. Do
Huu Hien - Deputy Director of Department of Science and Technology. The project
is headed by Mr. Nguyen Cao Quy. Mollusca HQ Aquaculture Co., Ltd. is the lead
agency.
On May 12, 2020, the Department
of Science and Technology organized an Advisory Council to evaluate and accept
the project “Piloting the application of warning technology, early detection of
swirling ponds and Rip current in Bai Sau area of Vung Tau City”. Chairman of
the Council is Mr. Đỗ Hữu Hiền - Deputy Director of Department of Science and
Technology. The project is headed by Assoc. Prof. Mai Thế Công. The Vietnam
Netherlands Center for Water and Environment is the lead agency.
On
May 06, the Department of Science and Technology organized an Advisory Council
to evaluate and accept the project "Research and application of some
finished products containing nanosilver to prevent diseases and increase
productivity on some vegetables in Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province". Chairman
of the Council is Mr. Mai Thanh Quang - Director of Department of Science and
Technology. The project is headed by Msc. Chu Trung Kien, Institute of Agricultural Science for
Southern Vietnam is the lead agency.

In the morning of January 14, the Spring
Canh Ty Newspaper Association 2020 in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, the 22nd, with
the theme “Ba Ria-Vung Tau Press continues to innovate and to create for the development
of industrialization and modernization of the homeland and the country”, was organized

the afternoon of November 18, Thua Thien Hue Province delegations led by Ms.
Tran Thi Thuy Yen - Deputy Director of Department of Science and Technology
visited and worked with Department of Science and Technology of BR-VT province

In the afternoon of November
14, the Department of Science and Technology in collaboration with the
Provincial College of Technology held a workshop on the Scheme of establishing
BR-VT Innovation and Start-up Center. Attending the workshop were Mr. Mai Thanh
Quang - Director of Department of Science and Technology, Mr. Ngo Xuan Khoat -
Vice Rector of the Provincial College of Technology, Mr. Tran Le Quan Ngoc -
Expert of Singapore Production Technology Research Institute (SIMTECH), Mr.
Nguyen Hoa Cuong - Director of National Innovation Center - Ministry of
Planning and Investment and representatives of leaders of departments, boards, branches,
provinces, universities, volleges, other organizations that support for
start-up inside and outside the province.
Opening Ceremony "Office for Promotion Start-up Innovation in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province" (02/08/2019)
In
the morning of July 31, 2019, Department of Science and Technology held the
Opening Ceremony of "Office for Promotion Start-up Innovation in Ba
Ria-Vung Tau province" at Vung Tau City. Attending the event, on the side of the
Provincial People's Committee, there was Mr. Tran Van Tuan - Vice Chairman of
BR-VT People's Committee; on the Ministry of Science and Technology, there was
Mr. Vuong Duc Tuan - Deputy Director of the National Office in Southern Region;
on the side of the Department of Science and Technology of the province, there was
Mr. Mai Thanh Quang - Director of Department of Science and Technology and
representatives of leaders of departments, agencies, provincial union, associations,
universities, colleges, start-up support organizations in and outside the
province, investors and advisors for start-up.
On
the morning of July 24, the Department of Science and Technology organized a
Advisory Council to select organizations and individuals to implement the
project "Collection and introduction of Vietnamese folk literature (Kinh
people) in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province" . Chairman of the Council is Mr.
Mai Thanh Quang - Director of Department of Science and Technology. There are two
applications for selection: University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho
Chi Minh City and BR-VT province Literature and Arts Association.
