On the morning of November 2, 2024, in Vung Tau City, the Department of Science and Technology organized the Final Round of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Fisheries Innovation Competition in 2024. Attending, on the side of the Organizing Committee, was Mr. Tran Duy Tam Thanh - Standing Deputy Head, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology; Mr. Tran Thai Son - Deputy Head, Director of Synergy Development Viet Company Limited.

There was also the attendance of Ms. Ho Thi Anh Tuyet - Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union and leaders of agencies and units inside and outside the province.

Mr. Tran Duy Tam Thanh - Standing Deputy Head of the Competition Organizing Committee, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology said that in recent times, the Department of Science and Technology has accompanied the province's fisheries industry in many activities, thereby implementing the program to support innovative startups in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province that the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Science and Technology to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, branches and organizations to implement. Since 2017, we have seen the potential and strong development from innovative ideas to creative startup projects with technology solutions and new business models from strength fields of the province, including the agricultural sector, especially the fisheries sector.

From 2020 up to now, with the support and sponsorship of Synergy Development Viet Company Limited -  a startup developed from the province's innovative startup support program, Department of Science and Technology has coordinated agricultural agencies and related organizations accompany and organize the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Fisheries Innovation Contest; with the goal of finding and developing technological solutions and innovations aimed at enhancing value, solving problems of the fisheries industry in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province and connecting and developing in different localities across the country.

After five years of organization, the Contest has received the attention and participation of 160 projects, solutions, and ideas participating not only in Ba Ria - Vung Tau but from many provinces and cities across the country with many stakeholders. social participation, from students, institutes, universities to businesses and mass organizations; with many new solutions developed in the competition, as well as bringing developed solutions closer to businesses and markets.

At the end of the competition at the Final Round of the 2024 Competition, the Organizing Committee awarded eight awards in two competition tables (Project/model table and Idea table),
