On June 13, 2014, Department of Science and Technology Baria – Vungtau Province held a council meeting to approve project for waste landfill construction after processing of Tan Thanh disposal plant, Bao Ngoc Green Environment JSC (Tan Thanh District) as the investor. Mr.Nguyen Kim Truong, Deputy Director of Department of Science and Technology as chairman of Verification Board.

On June 10, 2014 Department of Science and Technology Baria – Vungtau Province held a meeting to select project "Building a model of water-saving irrigation according to Israel technology using solar energy for piper nigrum irrigation with 5,000 m2 scale."

Research and application of probiotics to prevent nematode damaging bitter melon and egg-plant in Baria – Vungtau Province (16/06/2014)

On June 12, 2014 Department of Science and Technology of BR-VT province organized a council  to select project "Research and application to prevent nematode damaging vegetables (broccoli, bitter melon, egg-plant) with probiotics in Ba Ria - Vung Tau) by subject leader MA Chu Trung Kien, leading agency is Institute of Agricultural Science for Southern Vietnam. Inspect the project, model to improve rural sanitation environment (08/06/2014)

On June 6, Department of Science & Technology Baria – Vungtau Province inspected the project of  Provincial Center for Application of Technology and Science Improvement named “Build the model to improve countryside sanitation environment in Lang Dai commune, Dat  Do district, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province” headed by Mr. Trinh Thanh Hung. Mr.Mai Thanh Quang – Director of the Department is chairman of inspection council.

Selection of research on testing artificial breeding of Frog fish (05/06/2014)

On May 29, Department of Science and Technology Baria – Vungtau Province held to select the topic "Research on testing artificial breeding of Frog fish in Ba Ria - Vung Tau" chairmaned by Dr.Cao Van Hung, led by Research Institute for Southern Marine Fisheries in coordination with National Center for Southern Aquaculture and Center for Application of Science and Technology Progress (under Department of Science and Technology Baria – Vungtau Province).

Conference to study the factors affecting the water quality of Da Den lake (05/06/2014)

On  May 30, Department of Science and Technology Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province held a scientific seminar with topic: "Research on factors affecting water quality of Da Den lake and proposing solutions for integrated management" by Dr.Le Viet Thang and Dr. Nguyen Hong Quan, co-head of the subject. Thu Dau Mot University is the leading agency.

Showroom for nuclear equipment mock-ups launched (04/06/2014)

The Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) launched a showroom displaying mock-ups of nuclear equipment in Hanoi on June 4, aiming to help the public understand the importance of nuclear power plant projects and boost consensus about the work.

Microsoft names Vietnam among world's biggest cyber crime victims (27/05/2014)

A Microsoft survey has found that Vietnam is among the countries most vulnerable to a mass cyber attacks; nearly half of computers were found to contain malware.

The SIR v16, or Microsoft’s Security Intelligence Report volume 16, was released recently showing that 49.22 percent of at least 100,000 computers in Vietnam were infected with malicious codes.

Experts urge delay of 4G application (26/05/2014)

Vietnam is preparing to apply 4G (fourth-generation network) technology from 2015. However, industry insiders said the country should be in no rush to make the switch, as moving to 4G would involve significant investment in infrastructure and require end users to buy new mobile phones.
