Vietnam to see longest solar eclipse in 1,000 years today (15/01/2010)

An annular solar eclipse, believed to be the longest in 1,000 years, will occur on January 15 and can be observed in parts of Vietnam, according to the Geophysics Institute of Vietnam’s Academy of Science and Technology.

FDI Outlook in Vientam in year 2009 (13/01/2010)

Total new registered capital of FDI projects is about 21.48 billion USD, in which 16.34 billion USD is newly licensed project (76% contribution, 839 projects). Top 3 provinces attracts FDI in Vietnam is Baria-Vung Tau (6.73 bil. $US, in which 2.857 bil.$US of 12 new licensed projects), Quang Nam (4.174, 4.150, 1), Binh Duong (2.502, 2.152, 95). Hochiminh City and Hanoi are ranked number #7 and #8 accordingly. However, the number of license granted by those major economic hubs of Vietnam is almost 537 licenses (64% of total new licenses granted in Vietnam).

VINASAT-2 project receives PM’s approval (05/01/2010)

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has approved an investment project on Vietnam’s second telecommunications satellite (VINASAT-2), which is scheduled to be launched in 2012.

PM Dung authorized the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) as the chief investor in the project.
