Government names Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Highway builder (09/06/2010)

The government has awarded the state-owned Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway Development Joint Stock Co the contract to build the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Highway. The 77.5-kilometer, six-lane highway, to cost some VND16 trillion (US$843.4 million), will link Dong Nai and Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provinces.It will link a beltway near Bien Hoa city with the road leading to Thi Vai-Cai Mep Port near Vung Tau.

The Prime Minister has recently approved the plan on Vietnam’s island economic development up to 2020. It is estimated that total investment needs for the island system from now to 2020 is approximately VND162.5 billion. Of which, the 2011 – 2015 period needs about VND 51.8 trillion.


SHTP starts work on second phase (04/05/2010)

HCMC - Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP) Authority on Wednesday started work on phase two to expand the park in District 9 a further 613 hectares, in addition to the first-phase area spanning 300 hectares, which is nearly full.
The second phase, to be developed at a cost of VND5.8 trillion (some US$300 million), will include a supporting industry area, a hi-tech manufacturing area, an R&D and training area, and a business incubation area. Other facilities in the second phase include a logistics and service area.

VN seeks more helps against climate change (23/04/2010)
