On July 22nd, the Department of Science and Technology of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province held an advisory Council to select organizations and individuals to implement the social science and humanities project, named "Excavate, research and propose conservation solutions for the White stone ring Fortress archaeological site (Vong thanh da trang) in Xuyen Moc district”. Dr. Bui Chi Hoang - Institute of Social Sciences was selected to implement the project.

From 20th to 22nd July, at the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province, the Department of Science and Technology conducted a training on "Awareness and internal assessment of Quality Management System in accordance with National Standard TCVN ISO 9001: 2008 for state administrative bodies" – Phase 2. Over 60 executives from state administrative bodies of communes, wards, towns and districts in Ba Ria – Vung Tau attended the training course.

This two-day training course was delivered by Mr. Dao Duy Truong - Chief Consultant of management systems.

Acceptance of the research project “History of the management and exploitation of Ba Ria - Vung Tau sea and islands from the early twentieth century (1900-2013)" (19/07/2016)

On June 14th, the Department of Science and Technology organized a Committee to review and decide whether to accept the research project “History of the management and exploitation of Ba Ria - Vung Tau sea and islands from the early twentieth century (1900-2013)”. The project is carried by Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities with Dr. Pham Ngoc Tram as project leader.

Workshop “New biochemical products to use in high-tech cultivation and to cope with the impact of climate change on agriculture” (19/07/2016)

On June 10th, at Song Xoai commune of Tan Thanh district, the Centre for Science and Technology Information and Statistics (Department of Science and Technology) in cooperation with the Farmers Association of Tan Thanh district held a workshop on the topic "New biochemical products to use in high-tech cultivation and to cope with the impact of climate change on agriculture". The facilitator was Dr. Nguyen Dang Nghia - the Tropical Agricultural Research and Consultancy Centre.
